Fundraising for Kids in Need of Defense: Goal reached!

Baltimore is a sanctuary city, but unaccompanied migrant children still face tremendous challenges. 50% of these kids face immigration court alone, often as survivors of gang violence, abuse, or neglect. They don’t have a right to legal representation in these situations. It’s a deplorable barrier to equal justice. Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) provides essential legal support through pro bono legal representation and essential services.

The Student Justice Alliance supports Kids in Need of Defense in their protection of equal access to justice. Through a series of events from August 2024 to September 2024, the Student Justice Alliance fundraised $1,000 towards KIND, mobilizing over 50 donors. Thank you for your incredible support; we’ll continue our work ensuring equal access to justice and our work in supporting other organizations that do the same.
